SABC employees in Bloem take a stand against gender-based violence

SABC News reports that SABC employees in Bloemfontein have joined the nationwide condemnation of violence against women and children. They held a special prayer service at the broadcaster’s offices in Bloemfontein. Staff members say they saw the need to play their role as it’s often journalists who help disseminate messages of outrage to the public. Free State SABC acting provincial general manager Vuyo Nyembezi says they feel the cry against gender-based violence.

“We feel the cry and we see these things happening in front of us which is gender-based violence and we saying enough is enough. We taking a stand, we saying it must stop and we saying not in our name. Remember we are the bearer of bad news every day on our news bulletins on our current affairs, we report on these matters,” says Nyembezi.
