Food services could be affected as Air Chefs plan strike

Catering on board several flights may be affected on Monday if Air Chefs fails to interdict workers from striking in the Labour Court. Union affiliated employees intend to down tools after the company stopped paying anniversary bonuses.

The bonus is an employee benefit but the union says management withdrew it. Flights that may be affected include Mango, South African Airways and SA Airlink. Affected airports include OR Tambo, Cape Town International and King Shaka International in Durban.
