eNCA reports that Minister of Public Enterprises Pravin Gordhan is expected to release a Special Paper on Eskom on Tuesday. The document will detail a comprehensive road-map for the struggling state-owned entity. At the same time, the Standing Committee on Appropriations will be briefed by Eskom’s Executive Board.
Last week the Special Appropriations Bill was passed in Parliament. The bill will give Eskom a R59-billion bailout once approved by the National Council of Provinces. Although Eskom has not implemented load shedding for over a week, the power utility warns the system remains vulnerable and any unexpected shift may result in load-shedding at short notice.
